The Blender

To do my blending, I purchased a Blendtec blender.  It's a significant investment, so if you're not sure yet, you can start with blends of pre-puree'd foods.  Or I understand some people use their standard blender and then strain out the big chuncks.

I have heard from many people that Blendtec actually donated blenders to them.  Apparently they emailed the company or contacted them through their website to find out if there was a discount for families with medical needs and received a reply that the company was going to provide a blender.  What a great company!

The Blendtec is a serious blender. It's famous for its "Will It Blend" videos, where it totally blends cell phones and Halloween skeletons...  I literally use mine every day, so I consider it a good purchase.  It purees our meals and makes everything easy with the touch of a button in about 60 seconds.  A lot of people are worried about clogging the tube, but in 6 months with my Blendtec, the only things that have caused any issue were some fatty lamb meat that wouldn't blend, and flax seeds that were small to start out with, and really just caused a lot of friction, but no clogs.

The Blendtec is fast, robust, powerful, and easy to clean.

There are other brands out there that are similar to the Blendtec and would do a similar job for a similar price - The Vitamix is also a popular commercial strength blender.
